Casa de Campo Resort & Villas is a premium independent resort in La Romana, Dominican Republic. Spread across a vast gated estate encompassing a hotel, private villas, a marina, golf courses and a working village of shops and restaurants, it is one of the Caribbean’s most distinctive luxury destinations.
For a property of this caliber, winning the direct booking is a clear commercial priority. By partnering with The Guestbook and Triptease, the resort set out to compete harder on price, win more bookings direct and reward the guests who book that way.
Metasearch is where guests compare prices side by side and decide who to book with. A hotel that looks more expensive, even slightly, risks losing the click.
For Casa de Campo, OTAs (online travel agencies) were undercutting the direct rate too often to manage, so the resort frequently looked uncompetitive before a guest ever reached its booking engine. With no control over which impressions its budget was spent on, spend was going to searches the direct rate had little chance of winning.
Alongside competing on price, the resort wanted to reward guests who booked directly and build lasting guest loyalty. The aim was to win valuable guests direct and keep them coming back.
Casa de Campo teamed up with The Guestbook and Triptease to combine loyalty rewards with a more competitive metasearch strategy.
Triptease gave the resort two automated ways to compete on metasearch: one to win the click by matching the OTAs undercutting it most, and one to protect its budget when an undercut is too deep to match.
Price Match tackles undercuts head-on, automatically matching OTA rates in real time. The resort shows the best available price at the moment of comparison and wins the click direct, while staying in control of which OTAs to match and by how much.
When an OTA undercuts the direct rate by more than Price Match can close, Parity Blackout removes the resort from the auction. Budget isn't wasted advertising a price that isn't the best available.
The Guestbook’s loyalty platform enabled the resort to offer guests valuable rewards for booking directly. These rewards encouraged guests to bypass OTAs and book with the resort, increasing customer retention and satisfaction.
Between November 2025 and June 2026, Triptease Metasearch delivered a 15x return on ad spend for Casa de Campo, generating $399K in direct revenue. Price Match played a significant role in that performance, influencing 58% of metasearch bookings and giving the resort a way to compete on price the moment a guest compared rates.
The partnership with The Guestbook added another layer to that growth. Loyalty program sign-ups rose 42%, building a stronger, more engaged guest base and giving Casa de Campo more guests who come back and book direct. Together, the two platforms delivered a more seamless, rewarding booking experience, one that keeps guests choosing to book direct, and keeps them coming back.
Casa de Campo’s experience shows what is possible when loyalty and conversion tools work together. With Triptease, the resort competes on metasearch where it counts, winning more bookings direct and relying less on OTAs. Paired with The Guestbook’s loyalty rewards, it has a repeatable way to win valuable guests direct and keep them coming back.
