Find the answers you need
We’ve built an automated system that uses information from lots of different data sources to make decisions. One of these data sources is how people have previously behaved on your hotel website, and which type of guest is most likely to convert. Another pool of data is your parity data. We compare your current price against OTAs for the itinerary being searched.
This all goes into a feedback loop, so we can see how this information impacts the results of our bids. The system is constantly re-evaluating that data and using it to change our bidding strategy based on what’s proven to work. That automatic cycle is going on all the time, and is changing bids based on parity, what people are doing on your website, and your past performance.
If your booking engine supports discount codes, you can provide us with incremental codes for precision discounting. The more increments, the closer we can match the competing price, optimizing your budget. For instance, with codes in 1% increments up to 7%, we can precisely match up to a 7% difference (using codes for 1%, 2%, 3%, etc.).
When we set you up on Triptease, we ask that you place three tags on your website. These tags allow us to:
- Display messages based on your customers’ behavior.
- Track interactions with those messages across your website.
- Track customer conversions within your booking funnel.
More specifically, when a message is shown to a visitor on your website we send a request to our servers so that we can track exactly what is happening as they move through your website and interact with the message. We track when it was displayed, who saw it (all potential customers have a visitor ID that we generate and store in a cookie) and which page they saw it on.
Similarly, when a customer interacts with a message we track the details around that too. We record exactly who took an action after seeing the campaign, when that happened and what they did - did they close the campaign or click the button to book or find out more?
Lastly, for any visitors who go on to make a direct booking on your website, we track some final details from the booking confirmation page including booking value, booking currency, and the corresponding visitor ID. It’s the combination of these three data points across your website and booking engine that allows us to accurately track your performance including daily impressions, conversions and revenue within the Triptease Dashboard.
