When was the last time you tested your mobile booking experience?
For many hotels, the answer is 'not recently enough'. The good news is that running a user experience test can be much quicker and simpler than you might think.
At our recent Direct Booking Masterclass event series, we challenged hoteliers to split into pairs and try to make a booking on each other's mobile booking engines. The results were eye-opening: By watching just one person move through their booking flow in front of them, hoteliers were alerted to a range of previously unknown user experience issues and areas for significant improvement.
In fact, when we asked at the end of the Masterclass what key insight or learning from the week's workshops the participants would take forward with them into 2021, the number-one response participants gave was 'I'm going to focus on improving my mobile website and booking engine'.
If you missed the Masterclass - don't worry. You can watch a recording of our mobile experience session with Senior Product Manager Laura Rogers via the video above. Laura spends the vast majority of her working days researching ways to improve guest experience on mobile, and in this short video she shares her most impactful advice for hoteliers seeking to improve their own.
